What We Do

NutriKaki solves a problem that every health-conscious Singaporean faces: no calorie tracker understands local food. Generic apps from the US or UK have little to no hawker data — and what they do have is often inaccurate.

We built NutriKaki on the official Health Promotion Board (HPB) Singapore food composition database — the same data used by Singapore's healthcare system. That means when you log chicken rice or laksa, the numbers are clinically verified, not user-submitted guesses.

Beyond the data, NutriKaki understands how Singaporeans actually order food. Our smart modifier engine recognises siew dai (less sugar), kosong (no sugar), less rice, and dabao — and adjusts your macros accordingly. No other tracker does this.

Frequently Asked Questions

What data does NutriKaki use for nutrition information?
NutriKaki uses the official Health Promotion Board (HPB) Singapore food composition database, sourced under licence from HPB. This is the same database used by Singapore hospitals, dietitians, and the Ministry of Health. Data covers over 2,700 food items with verified calorie, protein, carbohydrate, fat, sodium, sugar, and purine values.
How many calories are in chicken rice?
Per HPB Singapore data: Soya Sauce Chicken Rice is 471 kcal per plate (310g), Steamed Chicken Rice (Ji Fan) is 522 kcal per plate (346g), and Roasted Chicken Rice (Siew Ji Fan) is 646 kcal per plate (363g). Ordering less rice saves approximately 55–90 kcal. Track your exact portion on NutriKaki.
How many calories are in laksa?
Singapore laksa has approximately 589 kcal per bowl, primarily from coconut milk. Laksa is also high in sodium at around 1,640mg per bowl — above the daily recommended limit of 2,000mg. Asam laksa is a lower-calorie alternative at around 350–450 kcal.
Does NutriKaki understand local food modifiers like siew dai or kosong?
Yes. NutriKaki's smart modifier engine recognises common Singapore ordering shorthand — siew dai (less sugar), kosong (no sugar), less rice, less oil, and dabao. When you log a drink or dish with a modifier, the calorie and macro count is adjusted accordingly. No other nutrition app in Singapore does this.
Is NutriKaki suitable for people with gout?
Yes. NutriKaki is the only nutrition app in Southeast Asia that tracks purine content using HPB Singapore data. Users managing gout can see the purine content of hawker dishes — particularly relevant for offal (liver, kidney), shellfish (prawns, clams), and certain soups — and stay within safe daily limits.
Where can I download NutriKaki?
NutriKaki is available as a web app at app.nutrikaki.com, on iOS (App Store), and on Android (Google Play). The free plan requires no credit card to start.
