Latte Calories in Singapore: Skinny, Oat, Soy & Full-Fat Milk Compared

By the NutriKaki Team  ·  Data sourced from HPB Singapore  ·  Updated September 2026

The direct answer: in HPB Singapore's default 450ml medium cup, a café latte made with full-fat milk is 248 kcal, a skinny latte is 189 kcal, an oat milk latte is 207 kcal and a soy milk latte is 108 kcal. A 450ml americano, for comparison, is 14 kcal. Every calorie of difference between these lattes comes from the milk.

Two of those numbers surprise people. Going skinny saves 59 kcal on a 450ml cup — worthwhile, but nowhere near halving the drink. And switching to oat milk saves just 41 kcal against full-fat milk while cutting protein from 11.7g to 3.2g. If you picked oat milk to make your latte lighter, HPB's numbers say it barely does.

Oat milk on its own is covered further down: a 250ml glass is 133 kcal on HPB's data, between full cream milk (150 kcal) and low fat milk (118 kcal), with more sugar than any of the dairy milks.

Every Latte in HPB's 450ml Medium Cup

How to read this table: the per cup column is the whole drink at HPB's own default portion for café coffees, a 450ml medium cup. The per 100ml column is HPB's raw density figure. Protein, fat, carbs and sugar are all for the whole 450ml cup. Nothing here is estimated.

Drink (450ml medium cup)Per cupPer 100mlProteinFatCarbsSugar
Latte, full-fat milk248 kcal55 kcal11.7g12.9g21.3g16.7g

Soy milk latte108 kcal24 kcal4.5g4.1g12.7g6.2g

Key takeaway: on HPB's data the soy milk latte is the lightest milk coffee by a wide margin — 140 kcal less than full-fat milk for the same 450ml cup. The latte with the most protein is the one made with low-fat milk (13.1g), which is also the second-lightest at 171 kcal.

"Skinny" is not the lightest dairy option in HPB's data

HPB records the skinny latte and the latte made with low-fat milk as two separate entries, and the skinny latte comes out slightly heavier: 42 kcal per 100ml against 38, or 189 kcal against 171 kcal for a 450ml cup, with 6.1g of fat against 4.1g. The exact milk a café calls "skinny" varies, so treat these two rows as a range for a reduced-fat dairy latte: roughly 170 to 190 kcal for 450ml, against 248 kcal with full-fat milk.

Oat milk: fewer calories than full-fat, far less protein

The oat milk latte sits at 207 kcal for 450ml — 41 kcal under full-fat milk, but 18 kcal more than a skinny latte and 36 kcal more than a low-fat-milk latte. It also has the most carbohydrate of any plain latte in HPB's data (26.9g) and the least protein (3.2g, against 11.7g for full-fat milk). If you drink oat milk because you prefer it or avoid dairy, that is a fine reason. As a calorie-saving swap, it is the weakest of the options.

Latte Calories by Cup Size: Small, Medium, Large

HPB records all of these café coffees in three sizes: a 300ml small cup, a 450ml medium cup (the default used everywhere else in this article) and a 550ml large cup. Each figure below is for the whole cup.

DrinkSmall (300ml)Medium (450ml)Large (550ml)
Latte, full-fat milk165 kcal248 kcal303 kcal
Oat milk latte138 kcal207 kcal253 kcal
Cappuccino138 kcal207 kcal253 kcal
Skinny latte126 kcal189 kcal231 kcal
Latte, low-fat milk114 kcal171 kcal209 kcal
Soy milk latte72 kcal108 kcal132 kcal
Americano9 kcal14 kcal17 kcal

Cup size moves the number as much as the milk does. A small full-fat latte (165 kcal) is lighter than a medium skinny latte (189 kcal), and going from a small to a large full-fat latte adds 138 kcal — more than twice the 59 kcal you save by going skinny at the same size.

Oat Milk vs Dairy Milk, Per Glass

For oat milk on its own — in cereal, in a smoothie, or drunk straight — here is HPB's plain oat milk against three dairy milks. Every row is HPB's default portion for these milks, a 250ml glass.

Milk (250ml glass)CaloriesPer 100mlProteinFatCarbsSugarSodium
Full cream milk150 kcal60 kcal8.8g7.2g12.5g11.6g138mg
Oat milk133 kcal53 kcal5.6g2.6g22.5g18.9g110mg
Low fat milk118 kcal47 kcal8.7g3.3g13.2g12.5g120mg
Skimmed milk93 kcal37 kcal9.0g0.3g13.1g13.1g118mg
Oat milk carries the most sugar of the four. A 250ml glass of oat milk has 18.9g of sugar on HPB's data, against 11.6g for full cream milk and 13.1g for skimmed milk. HPB's sugar column reports total sugars, not added sugars, so this is not necessarily syrup — but if you are watching sugar or blood glucose, oat milk is the highest of these four, with the most carbohydrate too (22.5g) and the least protein (5.6g). Brands differ, so check your carton's label.

So oat milk is lighter than full cream milk by 17 kcal a glass, and much lower in fat (2.6g against 7.2g). But it has more calories than low fat or skimmed milk, and about 3g less protein than any of the dairy milks. If calories are the goal, skimmed milk at 93 kcal is the lightest glass here.

Café Latte vs Kopitiam Kopi

A café latte and a kopitiam kopi come in very different cups, so each row below states HPB's own default size. Kopitiam coffees are recorded in a 250ml regular cup; café coffees in a 450ml medium cup.

Drink (HPB default portion)CaloriesPer 100mlProteinSugar
Latte, full-fat milk — medium cup, 450ml248 kcal55 kcal11.7g16.7g

Kopi O kosong — cup, 250ml33 kcal13 kcal0.7g0.0g
Americano — medium cup, 450ml14 kcal3 kcal0.7g0.0g

Per cup, the full-fat latte is the heavier drink simply because it is nearly twice the size. Per 100ml it is the other way round: kopi with condensed milk is 77 kcal per 100ml against 55 kcal for the latte, and it carries more sugar in a smaller cup (19.1g in 250ml). What the latte gives you for its calories is protein — 11.7g against 1.6g — because it is mostly milk rather than condensed milk and sugar.

For flavoured café drinks, HPB records a caramel macchiato at 266 kcal and 26.7g of sugar, and a mocha at 311 kcal and 30.4g of sugar, both for the same 450ml medium cup — heavier than any plain latte above.

Nutrition data sourced from the Health Promotion Board (HPB) Singapore food composition database (April 2026 release). Every per-cup and per-glass figure in this article is HPB's own per-100 value scaled to HPB's own recorded portion for that drink, which is stated alongside each number; no portion size has been estimated. The medium cup is HPB's default portion for café coffees; the small and large figures use HPB's own recorded small and large cup weights. HPB records these drinks by weight; this article follows NutriKaki's convention of reading the values per 100ml and quoting cup sizes in ml. HPB does not record sodium for the café lattes, cappuccino, americano or kopitiam coffees, so no sodium figure is given for them. HPB's sugar column reports total sugars rather than added sugars.
